Sport is alive and well in Grittleton for all ages!

Cricket: 

Cricket has been played in Grittleton since at least 1868!  We use the 100 year old pavilion at the top of the green.  Grittleton CC play Sunday friendly cricket, with the pitch also used by the Neeld Arms for midweek thrashes, and league teams for Saturday games.  Players of all abilities are welcome to join.   See the cricket club website for full details.

Multi-Use Games Area:

 The MUGA provides facilities for 5-a-side football, Netball, Basketball and Tennis. It can be hired for £5 per hour by ringing  Rindi Runacres on 01249782510.  Regular bookings are below:

Grittleton Golf Society: 

The Society dates from 1985 and holds four competitions each year, played at The Manor House Golf Club. It is open to all standards of golfer and enjoys excellent social events after these competitions.

Nigel’s Enormous Pot is a Stableford competition held in memory of a kind & enthusiastic member who lived in the village.  It usually takes place at the end of March.

The ‘Open’ Championship is an individual Stableford held in July.

Swillers & Shankers a Team Bowmaker, balanced draw for teams, best 2 stableford scores from 4 to count. A fun event in October.

Finally, The Neeld Arms Christmas Trophy is a Team Texas scramble, balanced draw for teams, held on the 27th December each year and kindly sponsored by the Village Pub.

The first three events are followed by a meal at the Manor House GC and the fourth meal is back at the Neeld.  Non-playing partners and previous playing members are always welcome at the meals.
